teleleads for 11.10.08. Job leads for telecommuters

>> 11.10.2008

If you read my last post, you know I'm getting a little nervous about my full-time work at home position and advocated finding several positions to supplement a work at home career. In the telecommuting world, this is sometimes called finding new "eggs" to put in your basket.

Over the next few days, you'll benefit from my search. Another round of job leads for online workers:

  • Tier 3 Support is hiring for technical support agents. I e-mailed my resume for a customer support position at Accolade and got an automated e-mail reply that they weren't hiring for those positions, but were hiring for technical agents. To apply, send your resume to techapp@tier3support.com and highlight any technical expertise or experience in a cover letter or in the body of the e-mail.
  • Embarq, a phone and internet service provider is hiring for consumer technical support positions in several states. This is a full-time salaried position. You must have Embarq phone and internet service, or be willing to make the switch.
  • Lime Exchange, another new marketplace for service providers and buyers to connect. I found this on WAHM.com. Usually, I wouldn't recycle a lead, but haven't seen much chatter about this site. I signed up tonight and liked the site navigation and formatting, and also liked the built in opportunities to network. The site doesn't have a lot of job postings yet, but I also like the prospect of getting on board early. Anyone else tried it out? I'd love to hear some feedback on this one.

Good for you for exploring ALL of your options for working at home. I think it's great to have a few extra eggs in that basket, too.

yes! exactly. I worked on LimeExchange when I got a project. I also like this website for the same reason as you mentioned. Because relatively its new site and not many people are using it so its the right opportunity to make an early impact. As its a product of Lime Group so there is no question about the quality. And recently they have added the certification which is something very interesting. as you mentioned there are not so many job postings there, the reason can be because people are not aware of it. But I am sure your blog will definitely attract more people.
Thanks,
Alex

Thanks alt and Mandy for the kind words.

Alex, I'm glad you chimed in. I didn't even think of researching the Lime group and didn't know much about it. I'm hoping this works out. I've found with eLance I'm having difficulty making a name for myself and getting my foot in the door.

It looks legit. I just signed up for an account and am going to give it a whirl. After I get acquainted with the site I will post about it on the blog. Thanks for finding this. I love the format and it looks a lot easier to use than some of the other sites.

Thanks Katy. You and Ryan did such a nice job reviewing Textbroker and eLance, I look forward to your take on this site. I agree, the format is what gives this site its edge.

LimeExchange also added a new payment feature through an agreement with MasterCard, making it easier to get paid.

Thnks for such an informative post!! Since I have used LimeExchange, I think I can throw some light on the main benefits of using this website.

It is a great business-networking platform serving two major communities: buyers and service providers globally. The site is supported with a vast range of collaboration features, attractive membership plans, covenient web interface, Online Skill tests and certifications, economical payment withdrawal options etc.

Since I have done some projects on this website and made some good money by rendering my skill set, I can say with confidence that it's a wonderful site for all enterprises, big or small.

Wishing all freelancers good luck!!
