Shop talk: I need blogging help. 200 ecs!

>> 11.13.2008

Update: I'm do follow now thanks to Kim from Kimmi's Krazy World! She suggested I try erasing the rel='no follow' line in a different web browser. I normally use Firefox, but when I used Internet Explorer I was able to erase error free. I'm not enough of an HTML junkie to know why it worked. Thanks to all who chimed in with support. I'll be giving away lots of ECs and found some new blogs to check out in the process. And, an update on twitter, it's totally addicting.

In an effort to not turn this into a blog about starting a blog, I've tried to cut down on posts about my new blogging adventure.

But, I need help! I want to make my blog do follow, but Blogger isn't cooperating. I tried simply removing the line rel='no follow' in the two places it appears in my code as was suggested all over the 'net. But, for some reason, I get an error from Blogger when I take that code out.

I'll give whoever helps me figure this out 200 ecs, for those of you not on Entrecard, I'll give you my forever gratitude and will subscribe to your RSS. Either e-mail me at teletwenties@gmail.com or leave a comment below.

If you try to help (not by simply suggesting I erase the no follow lines as I already have), I'll give you 10 ecs. In the meantime, I've added a recent comments widget to thank everyone for participating.

Update: A fellow blogger, Cindy from The Grass can be Greener, ran into the same error problems when trying to make her blog do follow. So, maybe this is a blogger issue and not a Kristine is a dummy issue. Thanks for letting me know Cindy!

On a happier blogging note, I've joined the masses and am using twitter (well, I'm trying to figure out how to use twitter.)

Follow me on twitter for an inside scoop on what I learned from my latest "A Day in the Life" guest poster and and to get instant job leads and home office resources.

Totally OT, but I'm looking at all your associated content buttons and wonderin gif you thought it was worth it to write for them? Has it actually paid off? I've heard some horror stories!

Kristine November 13, 2008 5:31 PM

Kat, No doubt AC won't make you a millionaire! But, I don't know how anyone could have a horror story about them. I wrote something up, very quickly I might add, and was paid promptly.

follow the instructions here on how to remove the nofollow on blogger --> http://webstractions.blogspot.com/2007/05/removing-nofollow-from-blogger-styled.html

Thanks for the link to the article Eric. Unfortunately, this was the same type of article I found before that didn't work. I sent you 10 ecs for trying to help!

Hi Kristine - I removed the 'no follow' from the codes on my blogs the other day and had no problem whatsoever. They are Blogger blogs too - weird. FWIW, I just deleted the rel='nofollow' words, not the whole line of code.

Good luck!

Have you gotten your no follow issue sorted out yet? Just as a silly thing, you're deleting " rel='nofollow'", right, not just the "no follow" part?

I didn't have any problems deleting the two instances of no follow from my blogspot blog.

(You have some awards at Confessions of a Baltimore Housewife, so swing on by and pick them up.

just type on google seacrh with this keyword: "how to remove nofollow on blogger"

i guess you know.

Kristine November 15, 2008 10:34 PM

chodirin, I did do the search, and got the advice to remove the code that I'd already tried.

Thanks for the awards Lori, I'll be around to pick up!

Lyla, Weird that you just did and I wasn't able to.

Well I have no idea if this it what really made the difference for me. But when I tried to remove the "no follow" in my blog I got the same error doing it in Internet Explorer. But for some strange reason when I opened Fire Fox and tried to remove it then it did not give me the error and removed it from my html. So maybe try doing it using Fire Fox. Let me know if that works!

Have you solved your problem yet, Kristine? I wanted to mention (because of Kim's comment) that I was using Firefox when I deleted my nofollow line, so maybe that's the problem.

I left you a Butterfly Award on my site, so stop by and pick it up when you get a chance!
