Change is good. I'm putting you in charge.

Does my design aesthtic make you phycially ill? Does my writing style make you want to fall asleep, and/or grab a red editor's pencil?
Hopefully, your feelings are less bitter than that, but this is a call out for you to tell me what to change.
I know I've made mistakes, like not setting up a test blog and leaving loose end designs all over the place.
I've caught massive typos days later. I have an annoying habit of changing my design and then changing it back, soon you'll appreciate my test blog.
I've only been blogging for about two weeks, and I already look back at my early design and posts with embarrassment. So, I'm proud of my accomplishments and daily improvements.
But, now I'm begging for critiques. I'm used to it. I thrive off of it actually. I worked in newspaper for a few years where my every design, writing, and content decision was broken apart, trashed, and once in awhile even praised.
So, I'm putting you in charge for the day. Tell me the first thing you'd change about my current design (I promise a second time to get the test blog up soon and fix all of these messy loose ends), content choice, writing style, or advertising choices.
So, if you were in charge the first thing you'd change is...

It's just a little bland for my taste. I'm a visual person though. Maybe a patterned background or a brighter header? Content & Layout are good though, and I love that moving Labels Cloud. Where'd you get that?
You're a perfect candidate for "10 things I hate about your site."
Check it out! :)
lol. Well i like the layout, but I don't think its quite "personal" enough. It's really minimalist, but then again you might like that? If you've only been blogging for two weeks, then hell! I'd say let yourself grow through trial and error utnil you find your comfort zone.
I like the cloud tag, I think it is fun. Probably what I would change would be the header, it looks kind of generic. I would probably suggest putting some kind of picture or graphics between post like you did at the top of this one. As far as content and writing style I like it just fine. It took a long time for me to be happy with my blog and there are still things I am not quite happy with yet.
Thanks for all the constructive criticism. I love it!
toughgirl- I agree, I want to ad some personal touches from my telecommuting experiences.
work from home- I agree, I need to remember to put an image with every single post if possible. I've been looking for a good teleleads graphic for every job leads post.
Angie- You're right, I've really tried to stay minimalist, and have maybe been a little too extreme!
web-betty- I check your site almost daily, and do want to be featured one day, but am afraid right now, my site would be 30 things I hate about your site, lol!
As for the moving cloud label, I got it from Blogger Buster.
As for the header, my friend designed it. I love his original concept, but I'm the one who mucked it up! He designed it to be smaller, which would look better, so I think I'll back to his original design and play around with it.
If you are looking for great stock photographs check out the ones on on Stock Exchange (http://www.sxc.hu/). That is where most of my generic ones come from. Either from there or screenshots. I like Stock Exchange because 90% of their stuff is free and it doesn't have those copyright messages in the middle of the graphic. Oh i mentioned your blog in my post from yesterday.
I'll definitly check them out next time. I've been using creative commons at flickr and wiki commons, but searching those is a pain. Thanks for letting me know.
Need a picture of youuuu! I like seeing a face behind the person talking but hey that's up to you. I think when I put my picture up it scared people away lol.
